Brock Lesnar vs. Undertaker Outcome Won't Have Lasting Impact on Either Star
The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar is one of the most anticipated matches at SummerSlam on Sunday, but in the end, the outcome won't make a difference for either man.
The story behind this feud is that The Undertaker is looking to make an example out of Lesnar for bragging about breaking the streak. He's not mad that he lost; he's just upset that Lesnar keeps reminding him about it.
Lesnar certainly wants payback for Taker costing him the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but WWE is putting more emphasis on The Deadman's quest for vengeance.

The promotion doesn't need a deeper storyline than simple revenge because both men are big draws no matter who they are in the ring with. However, the outcome to this match won't affect either man one bit.
Brock Lesnar
Let's say Lesnar wins. All this does is give Paul Heyman one more thing to brag about during his promos. He already beat The Deadman and broke the greatest winning streak in wrestling history. Another victory won't make Lesnar appear any more dominant.
Then there's the possibility that he doesn't win. Is it really going to hurt The Beast Incarnate if he loses one match to The Undertaker? The answer is no.
Lesnar can walk right back into the hunt for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship based on his past dominance, so there's really nothing at stake for him.
Having that extra bit of bragging rights is never a bad thing, but Lesnar has the best promo man in the business in his corner. He doesn't need any new non-title accolades.
Whether he wins or loses, Lesnar's status won't change one bit after his bout with The Undertaker at SummerSlam.
The Undertaker
If The Undertaker manages to vanquish The Beast Incarnate at SummerSlam, he would get a little redemption for losing at WrestleMania. That's all.
He's not going to suddenly return and chase a title, and he's definitely not going to get his streak back. All he's going to do is take his win and disappear for another six months to a year. How does that help anyone?
Then there's the possibility that The Undertaker loses to Lesnar again. We already covered how this wouldn't help Lesnar all that much, and it certainly wouldn't do Taker any good.
Either way you slice it, this match does nothing for The Deadman. He's not going to stick around to capitalize on a win, and he's not going to suffer any career setbacks from losing.
What Should Have Happened
Instead of putting the two most popular part-time Superstars into one match, the WWE should have booked each man to wrestle someone else.
Lesnar could have had another title shot, or he could have faced someone he has yet to battle since returning to the company a few years ago. Guys such as Randy Orton and Sheamus come to mind.
The WWE could have used Undertaker more effectively in a bout against someone who could use the press that comes along with battling the legendary Superstar.
Of course, there's always the Sting vs. Taker showdown we have all been waiting many years to see. If WWE wanted a marquee match to draw attention, nothing could compare to WCW and WWE's dark avengers going to war.
With a four-hour card, it would have made more sense to spread the star power of these two men across two matches instead of one, especially since nobody is going to gain anything from a win or lose anything from a defeat.
When it's all said and done, we'll get a nice video package recapping their feud, and then things will go back to normal. It'll be like nothing ever happened.
What do you think? Will the outcome of Lesnar vs. Undertaker have any lasting impact?
