Malachi Toney, Darian Mensah Highlight EA CFB 27 Week 1 Ratings Update Amid Heisman Hype

EA Sports rewarded two Miami stars for a historic Week 2 win over Florida A&M with a College Football 27 ratings bump.

Miami quarterback Darian Mensah saw his overall rating climb from 91 to 92, while wide receiver Malachi Toney rose from 96 to 97 in the latest ratings adjustments shared by EA Sports.

The rating increases came after Mensah and Toney helped Miami set a program single-game points record during a 77-7 Thursday night win over the visiting Rattlers.

Toney and Mensah each sat out Thursday's second half as Miami rested their starters down the stretch of the blowout victory.

Mensah made the most out of his two quarters of work, going 14-for-15 with 252 passing yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions.

He has completed 91.1 percent of his passes so far this season for eight passing touchdowns in two games.

Toney stopped playing in the second quarter but still managed to make four catches for 96 receiving yards and a touchdown.

The Hurricanes wideout has racked up 330 receiving yards and four touchdowns in his first two games of the season.

Other top players to receive a Week 1 ratings bump in College Football 27 included Texas' Cam Coleman and Rasheem Biles as well as Rutgers' KJ Duff, all of whom climbed from 92 to 93 overall ratings.

College Football 27, the third edition of EA Sports' revamped NCAA series, was released in July. Player ratings will be updated weekly throughout the season.
