Saturday Recap

Claudio Ranieri might have the reputation as being the Tinkerman from his time at Chelsea, but the Italian is proving experience is key to staying in the division.
There might only be two games gone in the Premier League campaign, but the signs look immense for Leicester as they've continued their stellar form from the final weeks of Nigel Pearson's tenure.
The Foxes defeated a buoyant West Ham, fresh from their win at Arsenal, winning the tie 2-1 with goals from Shinji Okazaki and Premier League top scorer Riyad Mahrez.
Dimitri Payet grabbed a goal back for the Hammers to set up an exciting last half-an-hour of action, but Leicester took all of the points on offer.
Match of the Day presenter and Leicester fan Gary Lineker was stunned with his favourite team's start to the campaign:
BBC Sport's Phil McNulty also praised Leicester's start but has long-term reservations about Ranieri:
Everton got their season back on track after a disappointing home draw against new boys Watford, with a stunning 3-0 victory against a laboured Southampton at St Mary's.
Romelu Lukaku confounded his critics with two goals inside 45 minutes, with Ross Barkley putting the cherry on the cake in the second half.
The Toffees were statistically second best to the Saints in many departments, per WhoScored.com, but a clean sheet saw the Evertonians grab a convincing result, despite Ronald Koeman's side's 17 attempts on goal compared to the visitors' 10.

Swansea City surprised many Premier League fans with their opening efforts against Chelsea last week, and they continued their goalscoring start with a 2-0 home win against Newcastle United.
As at Stamford Bridge, Bafetimbi Gomis and Andre Ayew were the Swans' goal heroes, as the sorry Geordies had little to offer. Opta highlighted Newcastle's lack of threat:
Tottenham Hotspur are without a win for a second straight game after throwing away a two-goal lead against plucky Stoke City. Goals from Eric Dier and Nacer Chadli in the first half were cancelled out by Marko Arnautovic and Mame Biram Diouf, as the Potters staged a dramatic late comeback.
Spurs were in control of the game for well over an hour, but the substitution of Harry Kane—taken off due to tiredness—sparked a dramatic collapse by the White Hart Lane club.

Stoke boss Mark Hughes brought on Stephen Ireland for the last 30 minutes of play, and the midfielder inspired his team to the unlikely draw with a dominant cameo performance.
Tom Allnutt of the Press Association summed up how Spurs threw it all away:
In Saturday's other games, Norwich grabbed a vital three points with a 3-1 win against a hapless Sunderland—with goals from defending duo Russell Martin and Steven Whittaker, and in-form attacker Nathan Redmond. The defeat leaves the Black Cats rooted to the bottom of the division.
Watford and West Bromwich Albion contested a bore draw at Vicarage Road to maintain the Hornets' unbeaten start to the campaign.
It has been a dramatic start for Ranieri and his energetic Foxes, and the points achieved will go a long way to survival when the chips are down next Spring.
They look like a work in progress, but the new signings look solid—and an improvement on Pearson's incarnation.

Tottenham look like a team who lack focus, and it will be incredibly hard for them to challenge for a top-four berth as the season continues. Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino got his tactics wrong on Saturday, bringing the impressive Kane off too early and hamstringing his side.
The Argentinian has spent little in the transfer market this summer, and it seems his team has a staleness and lack of fitness that new players would solve. However, Spurs did dominate for 65 minutes, so the coach will see this as a positive after a hugely disappointing afternoon.
