As weekend play in Wisconsin bears down, keep an eye on the following golfers and storylines as the season's final major heads for the home stretch.
Saturday Predictions
Jordan Spieth Nabs the Leaderboard's Top Spot

Spieth got off to a lethargic start Thursday with an opening-round 71, but a resurgent performance Friday thrust him into contention.
He rattled off six birdies and just one bogey en route to shooting a 67, which propelled him to within 10 shots of Tiger Woods on a historic list, according to the Golf Channel's Justin Ray:
"I’ve got a chance to win a major championship,” Spieth said following Friday's round, according to GolfChannel.com's Ryan Lavner. "Just thinking about that gets you enough adrenaline so that there won’t be any issues."
However, the 22-year-old's game hasn't been flawless by any stretch since arriving in Wisconsin, and he knows it.
"In order to keep shooting rounds like today, I’m going to need to drive the ball a little bit better and make a few more putts, which are really the two keys for me this weekend," Spieth said, per Lavner. "It’s just going to get more challenging with pin locations and the firmness of greens."
Considering he ranks 85th in driving accuracy this season at 63 percent, per PGATour.com, he'll need to kick that number up Saturday in order to avoid some treacherous rough and cavernous bunkers.
But with his momentum building, Spieth will be at the center of the attention when he steps onto the course Saturday afternoon.
Lingmerth Enters Sunday with a Shot

David Lingmerth missed three straights cuts from April 2 to May 14, but the world's 45th-ranked golfer has cranked things up a notch since encountering that deflating stretch. Over the last three months, the Swede has four top-10 finishes, including a victory at the Memorial Tournament in early June.
Now, Lingmerth finds himself in contention with a shot at his second career PGA tour win.
The 28-year-old penciled in a five-under finish on his scorecard Thursday, and a two-under effort Friday made him the temporary clubhouse leader at seven under par.
"I got off to a good start at the Open, but very disappointed with how I continued my play that tournament," Lingmerth said, per GolfChannel.com's Rex Hoggard. "To get two solid rounds in the first two here this week, it's a good feeling."
Carding a third-round score in the 60s may prove to be difficult for the underdog as the conditions at Whistling Straits get tougher for the weekend, but another round of 70 on Saturday could leave him with a shot at an improbable major victory entering Sunday.
Rory Makes a Charge

Rory McIlroy has been bombing the ball off the tee, but short-game struggles have held him to a cumulative score of two under heading into the weekend.
Ray offered a look at the world No. 1's deficiencies on the green compared to Spieth following Friday's round:
Although missing such a significant number of makable putts could offer discouragement moving forward, McIlroy is fully capable of correcting that trend and shooting a low score to work his way up the leaderboard.
If he can display some more composure with the flat blade, he'll be in business.
His drives haven't been shabby, either, and that's a major positive for McIlroy coming off a left ankle ligament rupture.
"Watching him drive the golf ball is just inspirational," Spieth said Friday, according to CBS Sports' Kyle Porter. "It's unbelievable when he is hitting his driver good."
With green speeds at Whistling Straits conducive to making birdies, McIlroy should have opportunities aplenty to vault up the standings assuming he can continue to churn out pristine drives.
