Heat Explain LeBron James Video Post on Team's YouTube Amid NBA Free Agency Rumors

The video teasing LeBron James' return to the Miami Heat was apparently a case of forward planning gone wrong.

Eagle-eyed observers noticed Tuesday the Heat scheduled a live stream supposedly for James' introductory press conference:

The Miami Herald's Anthony Chiang reported the Heat's social media team uploaded the video in error. The link was merely a placeholder should James actually sign with the team.

Miami is one of the suitors firmly in the running to land the 22-time All-Star, who has yet to make up his mind. His agent, Rich Paul, indicated he'll continue to take as much time as necessary.

James had a somewhat messy breakup with the Heat when he left to sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014. He referenced having a secret source of motivation in the years after departing South Florida, and that may or may not have been Heat president Pat Riley. For his part, Riley said during the 2015 offseason the franchise had "no more smiling faces with hidden agendas," which many took as a cryptic nod to LeBron.

That's all water under the bridge now.

"I've seen him at championship fights. I've seen him around. Run into him at All-Star Games," Riley said of James on The Dan Le Batard Show on Monday. "We had a great embrace when they honored me with a statue out there. … LeBron and I, we haven't talked much, but you let go of that stuff."

That press conference re-introducing James as member of the Heat was scheduled for July 27 based on the live stream. That gives Miami five more days to seal the deal.
