New Russell Westbrook Rumors Update Potential NBA Landing Spot Amid LeBron James Buzz
Having already landed two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Miami Heat reportedly could end up with another former MVP on their roster this offseason.
Per the New York Post's Stefan Bondy, the Heat are "the team to watch" for Russell Westbrook, though only if LeBron James does not end up in Miami.
Westbrook, 37, is far from the player he was in Oklahoma City, but was still productive with the Sacramento Kings last year, putting up 15.2 points, 6.7 assists and 5.4 rebounds per game across 64 contests.

He would join a Miami roster that features Antetokounmpo, Bam Adebayo and Andrew Wiggins, but not many other veteran players.
As it stands now, Davion Mitchell would likely run the point guard position for the Heat. The 27-year-old averaged 9.3 points, 6.5 assists and 2.7 boards per game last year, so Westbrook would likely be an upgrade if he matches his production from last season.
Westbrook would also likely be willing to join Miami on an affordable contract, which the Heat need after the blockbuster trade for Antetokounmpo.
But Westbrook likely isn't the Heat's No. 1 target right now.
James has yet to decide where he'll spend his 24th NBA season, but Miami is considered to be a frontrunner, along with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Philadelphia 76ers. The Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors reportedly are still in the mix as well.
While James has spent most of his career as a forward, adding him to the roster could alleviate the need to bring in another quality guard. James' passing has continued to be one of his best assets as he's aged, so he could easily serve as the primary ball handler for the Heat if he returns to South Beach.
