Brazil vs. Norway Top Storylines, Odds, Live Stream for World Cup 2026
Two of the most dynamic attackers in men's soccer will go head-to-head on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
Vinicius Junior and Brazil take on Erling Haaland and Norway in the round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Both teams picked up 2-1 wins in regulation in the round of 32, so there is no rest advantage, like there is in a few of the other round-of-16 matchups.
Both defenses will face their toughest test of the tournament to date. Vinicius and Haaland have been spectacular through four games. Sunday's winner may well be determined by which attacker makes the most game-changing plays.

Which Star Attacker Makes the Most Plays?
2 of 3
Erling Haaland and Vinicius Junior have nine goals between them at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Sunday's winner could be determined by which superstar scores the most goals.
Haaland was the only one of the two to score in the round of 32. He scored an 86th-minute winner against Ivory Coast.
Vinicius was not on the score sheet against Japan, but he was active force in trying to break down the Samurai Blue's back line.
The two players can each change games with goals, but they do so in different ways.
Vinicius is the better on-the-ball player. He'll look to create separation in 1v1 battles and then fire on goal.
Haaland is far more dominant in the air and typically doesn't need much time on the ball to find the back of the net.
Each player should get a few chances to score on Sunday, and since they've scored the bulk of their team's World Cup goals, it wouldn't be a surprise to see the superstar that scores the most advance.
Brazil Enters With Defensive Advantage
3 of 3
Brazil has the defensive edge on paper.
The Selecao conceded twice in the tournament, once to Morocco on Matchday 1 and once to Japan in the round of 32.
Norway allowed seven goals in the group stage, including three with a rotated squad against France. It conceded once to Ivory Coast in the round of 32.
Brazil's back line is spearheaded by Marquinhos and Gabriel Magalhaes. The PSG and Arsenal defenders have played in countless big games across their club and international careers.
They have a tough task with Haaland, but they've played him before at the club level and will be wary of the threat he poses.
Brazil is more likely to hold a clean sheet on Sunday. A shutout would not only be a success for the round of 16, but it could be a sign of things to come in the knockout round for the Selecao.
