"When we started, the purse was $2 million, now $13 million," Tim Walsh, the KPMG U.S. chair and CEO, told Golf Digest. "That's almost a 500 percent increase in supporting that purse which supports these incredible female athletes. I'm so proud to do that in partnership with PGA of America and the LPGA Tour."
Ryu is cashing in after overcoming a rough start on Sunday that included three bogeys in her first five holes. Dewi Weber briefly held the lead with an eagle on the seventh hole, which was the shot of the day.
However, Ryu birdied three of her next five holes to return to the top spot on the leaderboard.
Ryu maintained her top spot with another birdie on the 12th hole to stave off the charge from Yoon, Weber and the rest of the field.
Ryu steadily parred her next six holes to secure the victory at Hazeltine. The 2023 LPGA Tour Rookie of the Year earned her first win of 2026 in grand fashion by clinching her first major title.
Next up on the LPGA Tour schedule is The Amundi Evian Championship, which will be held July 9-12 at the Evian Resort Golf Club in France.
