Clippers Draft Pick Narcisse Ngoy Decides to Return to Auburn Instead of Playing for LAC
The Los Angeles Clippers are facing a unique situation with second-round pick Narcisse Ngoy.
After being selected with the 57th pick in Wednesday's second round, the French prospect announced on Instagram that he will honor his commitment to Auburn rather than make the jump to the NBA to play for the Clippers.
"I am thankful for the LA Clippers' confidence in me," Ngoy wrote in his Instagram story. "I fully intend to honor my commitment to Auburn University, and I am looking forward to wearing the Auburn Tigers jersey for the 2026-2027 season."

Per Peter Rauterkus of AL.com, the Clippers' selection of Ngoy is now being viewed as a "draft and stash" move, which is a common practice with international players that allows teams to hold on to a player's rights even if the player doesn't go to the NBA right away.
A 7'0" prospect who played professionally in the French Elite 2 League, Ngoy will now hone his skills with the Tigers.
"He's a high-upside young man who brings toughness, physicality, and a team-first mindset to everything he does," Auburn head coach Steven Pearl said after Ngoy signed with the Tigers. "Narcisse has a strong feel for the game on both ends of the floor. His instincts, ability to catch and finish around the basket, rim protection, and willingness to embrace contact will make him an immediate impact while filling a huge need for our team."
