San Francisco 49ers wide receiver De'Zhaun Stribling, who suffered a deltoid ligament sprain in his left ankle during his team's 27-7 season-opening win against the Los Angeles Rams, underwent surgery on Wednesday, per head coach Kyle Shanahan to reporters.
Regarding Stribling, Shanahan added that he feels "good he'll be back this season." However, the expectation is the ex-Ole Miss star will be out "close" to 10 weeks.
The 49ers selected Stribling with the No. 33 overall pick (top choice in the second round) of this year's NFL draft.
