Ben Stiller Announces Knicks Documentary for HBO After Filming Courtside Videos During NBA Title Run
If you watched this year's NBA Finals, you likely saw Ben Stiller sitting courtside filming on his iPhone.
The videos weren't just for him to have, it turns out. Stiller announced Wednesday that he's releasing a documentary about the New York Knicks' Finals run using the footage he recorded.
The documentary will be released through A24 and HBO.

Stiller officially announced the documentary on Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart's podcast. He said it started right before the Knicks' playoff run, and he'll be working on it for the next year.
"I'm really excited to announce that we are officially making a documentary about the New York Knicks for HBO and doing it with A24," Stiller said. "...Obviously, I've been shooting stuff on my phone, but it's kind of gonna be about all eras of the Knicks and this team. Obviously, there's a culmination of something that's been going on for a long time."
Stiller, an acting legend who has also directed several films, is a lifelong Knicks fan who was sitting courtside long before New York's recent resurgence. He would've been on celebrity row at Madison Square Garden regardless of whether he was making a documentary, but he saw it as a golden opportunity to bring a unique perspective to fans.
"If you're lucky enough to have that access and have that point of view, I feel like it's great to be able to share that," Stiller told The Athletic's Jared Weiss. "I think that's the biggest part of it, is to be able to share that point of view because I feel so grateful to have that. And then it's fun to be just witnessing it."
