
Gennady Golovkin Among 2026 International Boxing Hall of Fame Inductees
Gennady Golovkin was among those inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame on Sunday, joining fellow boxers Antonio Tarver, Nigel Benn, Naoko Fujioka, Jackie Nava and Jimmy Clabby; cut men Russ Anber and Jimmy Glenn; referee Frank Cappuccino; Dr. Edwin "Flip" Homansky; journalist Kevin Iole and the late broadcaster Alex Wallau.
"I have a great time with these people, a great time with my boxing family because, like 35 years I stayed in boxing, and this is my life," Golovkin said during the ceremony, per the Associated Press.

Golovkin, 44, was 42-2-1 in his career (37 knockouts), making 20 consecutive title defenses at middleweight before Canelo Álvarez ended his reign. Álvarez was the only man to ever beat him, doing so twice (with one draw in the trilogy).
