Preview
The standout fixture of the weekend is of course taking place at the Etihad Stadium.
Last season the game was memorable thanks to a late equaliser from Frank Lampard against his old club.
While Lampard's departure for New York City FC rules out the possibility of similar drama, the match promises to be a must-see clash thanks to its potential long-term implications for the title race.
Chelsea will have to face the Sky Blues with Asmir Begovic in goal thanks to Thibaut Courtois' suspension.

However, as ESPN's Miguel Delaney indicates, the Blues should have little to worry about:
What should be more of a concern for Chelsea is the openness they showed defensively against Swansea, as the excellent Jefferson Montero wrought havoc down the flanks.
As Delaney notes, manager Jose Mourinho is yet to find a perfect balance for his team:
With the likes of Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero running at his defenders on Sunday, expect Chelsea to sacrifice some attacking flair for a strong defensive foundation at the back.
As for City, they will be expected to push forward due to being the home team.
The Sky Blues were rampant in their 3-0 win over West Bromwich Albion on Monday, and as Opta Joe notes, particularly so in the first half:
By the end of the match, City had completed "211 more [passes] than any other team on the opening weekend," per Mandeep Sanghera of BBC Sport.
James Robson of the Manchester Evening News believed the victory to be a strong statement to City's title rivals:
Captain Vincent Kompany confirmed as much after the game. Per Sanghera's report, he said: "We have something to prove. Last season was below what we're used to doing. It was a good way to start the first game."
If Manuel Pellegrini's side can take the lead, expect the game to really open up as Chelsea surge forward in search of an equaliser.
Another exciting showdown sees Arsenal play Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Since Alan Pardew took over last season, the Eagles have gone from strength to strength and enjoyed a comfortable 3-1 win over Norwich City in their opening game.
Debutant Yohan Cabaye stood out, as his numbers via Squawka Football show:
The Frenchman's eye for goal and ability to pick a pass make him a real coup for Pardew's side.
After suffering a shock 2-0 defeat at home to West Ham United, Arsenal will need to be wary of the midfielder and his team-mates.
Former Arsenal defender Lee Dixon believes it's not all doom and gloom for the Gunners, but warns they still need to adapt when put under pressure:
Palace certainly have the ability to do that; however, the likely return of Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez to the starting lineup should have an invigorating impact on Arsenal, as well as add some much-needed ruthlessness in their finishing.
With them back in the side and Petr Cech eager to bounce back after his disappointing debut, expect Arsenal to start their season in earnest on Sunday.
