
Texas Beat Texas Tech to Win 2026 College Softball World Series Bracket in Finals Sweep
Texas softball has won back-to-back NCAA Division I Women's College World Series championships after defeating Texas Tech 4-1 on Thursday, cementing a two games to none win in the best-of-three finals.
The Longhorns, which won 7-3 on Wednesday, got two runs in the fifth and another pair in the seventh against the Red Raiders, who they defeated in last year's Women's College World Series.

Down 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Texas loaded the bases with two outs. Shortstop Viviana Martinez slapped a hard grounder to the left side of the infield. A throw to third for the force went awry, and two runs scored.
Texas added two insurance runs in the seventh inning. Center fielder Kayden Henry smacked a leadoff solo homer, and second baseman Leighann Goode hit an RBI single to score pinch-runner Alisa Sneed.
Texas Tech center fielder Mihyi Davis scored the game's first run in the bottom of the third inning. She singled up the middle, stole second and then ran home after right fielder Lauren Allred's single for the 1-0 edge.
Starting pitcher Citlaly Gutierrez pitched five innings, allowing one earned run, three hits, three strikeouts and one walk.
Reliever Teagan Kavan then threw two shutout innings, striking out five. Kevan, the Longhorns' ace, was named the WCWS Most Outstanding Player for the second consecutive year.
The Longhorns finished the season with a 53-12 record. Texas Tech went 61-10.
