New Knicks Rumors Reveal Landry Shamet Contract Details After 2026 NBA Title
The New York Knicks reportedly agreed to a new contract with veteran sharpshooter Landry Shamet on Monday.
According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Shamet plans to sign a four-year, $24 million contract to stay with the Knicks:
The 29-year-old has played for New York in each of the past two seasons, helping them win the 2026 NBA Finals and end a 53-year championship drought.
Shamet remaining a member of the Knicks doesn't come as a major surprise, as ESPN's Tim Bontemps reported that there was "belief" he would sign a new contract with the team on May 28.
While he was limited to just 51 games during the 2025-26 season due to a right shoulder sprain, his defensive activity and shooting accuracy made him an important piece of New York's lineup when healthy.
Shamet averaged 9.3 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 23.0 minutes per game while shooting 43.7 percent from the field and 39.2 percent from three-point territory during the regular season.
Although he was in and out of the Knicks' rotation to begin the playoffs, he was still able to make his presence felt when called upon. Shamet recorded 6.0 points and 1.1 rebounds per game in the postseason, connecting on 45.3 percent of his field goals and 47.5 percent of his triples.
He was particularly impactful during New York's sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals, shooting 11-of-12 from behind the arc during the series.
Shamet will now prepare for his ninth season in the NBA after spending the first eight years of his career with the Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Clippers, Brooklyn Nets, Phoenix Suns, Washington Wizards and Knicks.
