2026 NBA Draft Scouting Report for Cameron Carr
Cameron Carr's breakout season at Baylor instantly caught scouts' attention.
He left Tennessee last year after injuring his thumb four games into the season, knocing him further off the radar. And he became one of the big names in 2026's first-round discussion, particularly after he put on arguably the best NBA Combine scrimmage performance of the decade.
Carr profiles as the type of athletic, three-and-D wing that can fit practically every roster.

Realistic Pro Comparison: Devin Vassell
1 of 3
Carr's scouting report, tools and projected NBA role are very similar to Devin Vassell's.
These are complementary scorers who can produce without needing isolation touches or ball screens. They thrive in transition and spotting up, though Carr and Vassell can create and convert pull-ups, fallaways and line-drives.
Carr should look like a plug-and-play shotmaking wing with the athleticism to make plays at the rim and defensive end.
Strengths
2 of 3
Strength 1: Tools/Athleticism
Before scoring 30 points in the first NBA combine scrimmage, Carr made noise by measuring a 7'0" wingspan and leaping for a 42.5" max vertical. He has strong measurements for a wing who can also explode for finishes and blocks.
Strength 2: Shotmaking
Carr hit 77 threes, demonstrating deep range and a high release. His 40.7 percent mark off the catch is a good sign for a player who'll start his pro career stretching the floor and shooting off movement.
Strength 3: Driving
Carr's 62.7 field-goal percentage on drives ranks near the top of all draft prospects. He takes long strides and uses his body well before he's able to elevate with force and bounce above the rim.
Weaknesses
3 of 3
Weakness 1: Creativity
Carr doesn't project as the type of wing who NBA teams will run offense through. His self-creation scoring consists mostly of line-driving or elevating into a deep three. He only averaged 3.1 assists per 40 minutes, rarely using his dribble to set up teammates.
Weakness 2: Mid-range game
While analytics departments won't mind Carr's shot diet of mostly three-point and rim attempts, missing an in-between game limits his upside as a scorer. He shot just 10-of-38 on two-point jumpers this past season. His catch-and-shoot game was significantly better than his pull-up shooting
Weakness 3: Defensive awareness
Carr made routine highlight blocks, but he can stand to improve his awareness and reads as a team defender.
