New Giannis, Jaylen Brown Trade Rumors Update Landing Spots in Potential 3-Team Deal

With rumors swirling surrounding a potential three-team trade involving Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo and Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown, several other organizations could be involved.

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the Celtics and Miami Heat are "increasingly perceived to be" destinations that intrigue Antetokounmpo the most, while there's "belief in some corners of the league" that the Atlanta Hawks, Houston Rockets and Portland Trail Blazers have interest in Brown.

Stein also reported that Antetokounmpo's preference is to remain in the Eastern Conference, although the Dallas Mavericks have "never really left" his thinking given his close relationship with former head coach Jason Kidd.

Dallas parted ways with Kidd, who previously coached the two-time MVP in Milwaukee, on Tuesday.

The Mavericks have still "long intrigued" Antetokounmpo, per Stein.

He's spent his entire 13-year NBA career in Milwaukee, although his long-term future with the organization became murkier throughout the 2025-26 season.

ESPN's Shams Charania reported in Dec. 2025 that Antetokounmpo and his agent had "started conversations" with the Bucks' front office regarding "whether his best fit is staying or elsewhere."

Milwaukee ended up fielding trade offers for him prior to the Feb. 5 deadline despite ultimately choosing to keep him, per Charania.

The Bucks finished with a 32-50 record in the regular season, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

Meanwhile, Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady expressed his belief that Brown's "frustration lies deeply within" the Celtics organization after they blew a 3-1 series lead over the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the playoffs.

It's worth noting that Brown later said "I love Boston" during a May 6 live steam and explained that "if it was up to me I could play here for the next 10 years."

Still, the Celtics could target Antetokounmpo to pair with star forward Jayson Tatum as they look to go on a deeper playoff run next season.
