NBA Combine Results 2026, Wednesday Scrimmage Highlights and Top Prospects
The NBA draft combine continued Wednesday in Chicago with prospects showcasing their skills across a pair of scrimmages.
Yaxel Lendeborg had a strong showing in the 2025 combine before deciding to stay in college and stick with his transfer to Michigan. This time around, the 6'9" forward reinforced his status as a potential lottery pick in shooting drills:
UNC star Caleb Wilson, widely expected to be a top-four pick, also displayed some range:
When it comes to the combine scrimmages, the big names in a draft class typically opt out. They've already put enough on tape to solidify their stock. Instead, the exhibitions are a great opportunity for those further down the board to make an impression.
Cincinnati forward Baba Miller is projected to go 46th overall in the post-lottery mock draft from Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman. He was a standout performer in the first scrimmage, scoring a game-high 20 points and hauling in six rebounds.
Miller may have turned some heads:
UConn big Tarris Reed Jr. is a fringe first-rounder, sitting 35th in Wasserman's mock. Playing just under 19 minutes, he filled out the box score with nine points, five rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.
None of those numbers individually jumps out, but Reed did a little bit of everything:
Baylor guard Cameron Carr (No. 18) appears to be a lock for the first round, so climbing into the lottery is what he hoped to achieve at the combine.
The junior shot 37.4 percent on 6.1 three-point attempts as a junior, and that might be underselling the potential he has from deep. Carr opened the second scrimmage with a flurry of long-range jumpers and dropped 30 points:
Tennessee guard Ja'Kobi Gillespie, meanwhile, had 24 points in just the first half and finished with 28. Concerns over his height (6'0") will likely push him to the back of the second round. Still, he possesses obvious skill:
Thursday will bring more scrimmages.
Don't be surprised if Carr sits out because it's hard to see how he can top his performance. Gillespie may not have that luxury since he has so much ground to gain.
