Missouri Confirms Ahmad Hardy Shot at Concert, In Stable Condition After Surgery
The University of Missouri announced that junior running back Ahmad Hardy is in stable condition after being shot at a concert in Mississippi over the weekend.
Hardy underwent successful surgery Sunday.
"Ahmad is deeply loved by his teammates, coaches, friends, family and fans," the school said. "We will continue to stand beside him and his family through this difficult time, offering our love, prayers, strength and support."
Missouri added that there's no timeline for Hardy's return to the field.
The 5'10", 210-pound ball-carrier transferred to the Tigers ahead of the 2025 season. He proved to be a big addition, finishing second in the FBS in rushing yards (1,649) and leading the SEC in yards per carry (6.4).
In a March interview with On3 (via Andrew Hammond of AL.com), Hardy said he received a lot of outside interest this offseason but had already resolved to return to Missouri.
"I knew what I wanted," he said. "I wanted to be a Tiger until I turn pro. Missouri has taken care of me. I wanted to build my legacy here."
Hardy was projected to go 29th overall to the Baltimore Ravens in Bleacher Report's early 2027 mock draft.
Missouri gets the 2026 season underway on Sept. 3 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
