Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao Agree to Rematch Contract, Fight Date, Location Revealed

After months of rumors and speculation, an agreement is in place for the long-anticipated rematch between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao.

Manny Pacquiao Promotions CEO Jas Mathur told The Ring magazine's Mike Coppinger on Friday that Mayweather and Pacquiao have agreed to clash in a professional boxing match at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sept. 25, 2026.

Mathur added that the fight will stream live on Netflix, following the formula of other big-time bouts recently, such as Terence Crawford vs. Canelo Álvarez and Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson.

However, Andreas Hale of ESPN reported that a potential September 26 fight date at the MGM Grand Garden Arena is also under consideration.

Netflix originally announced in February that Mayweather vs. Pacquiao II would take place at The Sphere in Las Vegas on Sept. 19.

However, The Sphere was eliminated as a possible venue this week when it was announced that the popular band The Eagles would be playing a concert there on Sept. 19, per ESPN's Andreas Hale.

There were also other issues along the way, including Mayweather telling Vegas Sports Today (h/t Hale) in March that the bout would be an exhibition and "not actually a fight," despite Netflix previously announcing otherwise.

Mathur insisted last month that the fight was still on, though, telling Hale that the contract stipulated it would be a professional boxing match and not an exhibition.

With Mathur's announcement on Friday, it appears as though Mayweather and Pacquiao are set to meet in an official fight for the first time in more than 11 years.

Mayweather vs. Pacquiao was one of the most discussed and anticipated fights in recent memory, and it finally came to fruition in May 2015.

For all of the hype behind it, the fight was largely disappointing, as Mayweather dominated en route to a unanimous-decision victory.

Mayweather fought twice more after that, bringing his career record to 50-0, before he retired from professional boxing.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao eight times since the loss to Mayweather, and his most recent bout was a draw with Mario Barrios last year.

Although Mayweather has not fought professionally since retiring, he has taken part in several exhibitions with the most recent one being against John Gotti III in 2024.

With Mayweather being 49 years of age and Pacquiao being 47, both are well past their boxing prime, but their names carry so much weight that they still figure to draw a huge viewing audience for Netflix this coming fall.
