Tiger Woods' Son Charlie Misses Out on US Open Qualifying by 1 Shot, What's His New AJGA Ranking?
Charlie Woods, the son of the legendary Tiger Woods, will not be in the U.S. Open this year after he missed the next stage of qualifying by a single shot.
As Cameron Jourdan of Golfweek shared, Woods played in U.S. Open local qualifying at Eagle Trace but came up just short of advancing to the next rung on the qualifying ladder:

Eagle Trace is a familiar course for the 17-year-old considering he qualified for the last two U.S. Junior Amateur Championships at that location. However, the even-par 72 he shot in his most recent efforts was not quite enough to finish in the top five and advance to the final qualifying on June 8.
Brendon Elliott of Athlon Sports noted Woods still checks in at No. 14 in the American Junior Golf Association rankings and also turned in his best U.S. Open local qualifying effort after shooting an 81 in 2024 and a 75 in 2025.
Woods is also not far removed from his first AJGA title at the Team TaylorMade Invitational.
In February, he announced he was joining Florida State as a member of its 2027 recruiting class after he helped lead The Benjamin School to the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Class 1A state championship in two of the last three years.
"Excited to announce my commitment to play golf at Florida State University — go Noles!" he wrote on his Instagram page.
While Woods did not advance, the 2026 U.S. Open qualifying process will continue ahead of the tournament itself.
This year's U.S. Open is scheduled for June 18-21 and will take place at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Long Island, New York.
