New Anthony Edwards Knee Injury Update Given By Wolves HC Ahead of NBA Playoffs Game 4 vs. Nuggets
Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch gave an update on star Anthony Edwards' knee injury prior to a Game 4 matchup with the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs.
"I think it's definitely still something that we're managing and he's managing but all signs are pointing that it is getting better," Finch said Friday, per Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.
Edwards was listed as questionable due to right knee injury maintenance heading into Game 3 against Denver on Thursday, but suited up and played 24 minutes during Minnesota's 113-96 win.
The four-time All-Star finished with 17 points, five rebounds and three assists while shooting 6-of-15 from the field.
Edwards was removed from Minnesota's Game 4 injury report.
He missed 11 of the Timberwolves' final 14 regular-season games due to knee issues.
Although Edwards was able to return in time for the start of the playoffs, he was still working on his conditioning following his extended absence.
"I felt good," Edwards said after Game 1, via Krawczynski. "I mean, a little fatigued. I haven't played in like a month, month-and-a-half, so a little fatigued. But that was expected. Other than that, I felt good."
He's averaging 23.0 points per game while shooting 39.0 percent from the field and 25.0 percent from behind the arc to open the postseason this year.
Edwards previously recorded 26.9 points per game on 46.8/37.7/78.8 shooting splits throughout the first four playoff runs of his career.
With the condition of his knee seemingly improving, he could look more like his former self as the Timberwolves attempt to build upon their 2-1 series lead over Denver.
Game 4 between the Timberwolves and Nuggets is on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
