Max Homa Throws Golf Club At RBC Heritage After Criticizing Sergio Garcia's Masters Incident
Max Homa threw his golf club in frustration during the final round of the RBC Heritage on Sunday.
The incident occurred four days after Homa criticized Sergio García for slamming his driver into the turf at the 2026 Masters.
"I don't like when people break clubs. I don't like when people beat up the golf course because we deal with it, and I think the breaking clubs makes us look very, very spoiled," Homa said Wednesday, per ESPN. "... I definitely think beating up a golf course would be probably tops just because the rest of us have to play it."
After García's tee shot found the bunker during hole No. 2 at Augusta National, he swung his driver at the grass before breaking it against a nearby cooler.
García was issued a code-of-conduct warning for his actions and later apologized on social media.
As for Homa, he carded a 2-under 69 in the final round at Harbour Town Golf Links on Sunday. He recorded three birdies through his first 13 holes, but finished with consecutive bogeys on hole No. 14 and hole No. 15.
The second bogey occurred after he threw his club.
