Bryson DeChambeau Talks 3D-Printed Club, Details Masters Struggles After 'Weird' 1st Round
Bryson DeChambeau did not get off to the start he would have wanted at the Masters, shooting a 4-over 76 that pulled him far down the leaderboard.
One of the topics of the day, however, was the 3D-printed 5-iron he brought to the tournament. He only had the chance to use it once but was nonetheless questioned on the club:
He noted that it "prints in eight hours. Machines, they're three or four hours. Then you have to cut grooves in it and do a bunch of other stuff. So you can have something within a day and a half."
He did add that it has to be "USGA-conforming" before it can be used, however, so he won't be printing a different one for the weekend.
What he'll be hoping for is a better grasp on the rest of his irons going forward.
"Everybody has an ability for weird things to happen, and today I just did not have my irons under control, which is weird," he told reporters after his disappointing round.
