Paul KasabianMar 25, 2026

American skier Mikaela Shiffrin won her sixth career FIS Alpine Ski World Cup title on Wednesday, tying Annemarie Moser-Pröll of Austria for the most all time.

Shiffrin has also won 18 crystal globes, given to the winner of the overall competition every year as well as individual discipline. In addition to her six overall wins, Shiffrin now has nine crystal globes in the slalom (including 2025-26), two in giant slalom and one in Super-G.

The final event of the 2025-26 season was a giant slalom in Hafjell, Norway on Wednesday. Per the Associated Press, German skier Emma Aicher could have won the title if she finished first and Shiffrin took 16th or worse. However, Shiffrin took 11th and Aicher ended 12th.

Shiffrin ended the season with 1,410 points. Aicher took silver with 1,323 points, and Camille Rast of Switzerland finished third (1,049 points).

Shiffrin's dominance in slalom events proved to be the difference. She won nine of the 10 slalom races on the calendar this year, with the lone exception being a second-place finish.

Shiffrin, who holds the World Cup record (women or men) for the most race victories all time (110), has also won 11 gold medals (three Olympic, eight World Championship). She most recently won gold in the slalom at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.
