Stefon Diggs, Tyreek Hill, Deebo Samuel's Top NFL Landing Spots as Jaylen Waddle Traded to Broncos

Adam WellsMar 17, 2026

Any of the top remaining free-agent wide receivers can cross the Denver Broncos off their list of potential landing spots after acquiring Jaylen Waddle from the Miami Dolphins, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The list of receivers still on the market includes players like Stefon Diggs, Tyreek Hill and Deebo Samuel.

Even though those are marquee names, their actual ability to significantly impact games at this stage of their respective careers is why they remain available more than one week after free agency opened.

Despite the list of receiver-needy teams dwindling at this point, there are still a few clubs out there that could pursue a low-cost veteran option.

Teams like the Las Vegas Raiders, Baltimore Ravens and New York Giants could use more depth at wide receiver.

Even after giving out $288.9 million in contracts during the first week of free agency, wide receiver is still a gaping hole for the Raiders.

Jalen Nailor is a solid addition as a potential No. 3 wideout, but Tre Tucker and Jack Bech in the top two spots doesn't inspire a great deal of confidence.

The Raiders' biggest priority this offseason has to be setting up their roster foundation around presumptive No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza. They started with the offensive line by signing Tyler Linderbaum to the richest contract for a center in NFL history.

Other than Linderbaum, though, most of Vegas' free-agent spending has been on defense. Kwity Paye, Quay Walker and Nakobe Dean were brought in to help solidify the front seven. It remains to be seen whether or not Maxx Crosby will remain with the Raiders even after the failed trade with the Baltimore Ravens.

None of Diggs, Hill or Samuel at this point will significantly change the fortunes for the Raiders, but they at least offer some upside for a team that is expected to bring in a rookie quarterback at the top of the draft.

Diggs is the most appealing member of the group simply because he's healthy and coming off a 1,000-yard season with the New England Patriots.

Hill is impossible to know what to do with given the severity of the knee injury he suffered in Week 4 with the Dolphins last season. He said last month that he started walking without a brace, so it could be awhile before he's ready to play.

Samuel quietly had a solid year with the Washington Commanders in 2025 with 802 yards from scrimmage and six total touchdowns in 16 games. He has lost some value because the wide-back role really isn't part of his game anymore after getting 17 rushing attempts last year.

Baltimore Ravens

Despite cries from NFL teams about the Ravens' handling of the Crosby situation, we know it won't impact players' willingness to do business with them because Trey Hendrickson took a four-year, $112 million contract in free agency amid that whole fiasco.

It's impossible to know what the Ravens are ever really doing with their receiver room. They've tried several avenues to improve it, with some okay results along the way. Zay Flowers has been a success as a first-round pick in the 2023 draft.

The issue is the other pass-catchers aside from Flowers on the roster. Their depth chart right now has Rashod Bateman and Devontez Walker as the other starting receivers.

Bateman has had fewer than 500 receiving yards in three of the last four seasons. Walker has only been used as a downfield threat, averaging 22.4 yards per catch in his first two years, but he has just 11 catches in 21 games during that span.

Patrick Ricard's departure in free agency suggests that new offensive coordinator Declan Doyle wants to get away from the fullback-based running game. It could also mean more three- and four-receiver sets in the passing game.

If that ends up being the case, just having a capable veteran like Diggs, Hill or Samuel could make sense for a Ravens team feeling some urgency to win with Lamar Jackson in the prime of his career.

New York Giants

The Giants just kind of need healthy bodies at wide receiver right now. Malik Nabers appears to be on track for a return at the start of the season after undergoing both ACL and meniscus surgeries on his knee, but those are two significant injuries that do cloud how effective he might right out of the gate in 2026.

Wan'Dale Robinson left to sign with the Tennessee Titans in free agency. New York's top pass-catchers behind Nabers right now are Darnell Mooney and Darius Slayton.

Those aren't bad options to have, though they aren't particularly exciting looking at a Giants offense that could be pretty good next season. Jaxson Dart staying healthy will certainly determine how high the ceiling is.

A player like Diggs, in particular, could really help the Giants out. He did a terrific job as the No. 1 target for Drake Maye, who blossomed in his second season with a new head coach.

Dart's sophomore campaign probably won't go as well as Maye's did, but new head coach John Harbaugh and a deeper group of pass-catchers would help him become the quarterback New York bet on by trading up in the 2025 draft to select him at No. 25 overall.
