Lindsey Vonn Shares Injury Update in Rehab Video After Devastating Crash at 2026 Winter Olympics

American alpine skier Lindsey Vonn provided an encouraging update on social media as she continues her rehab from a devastating complex tibia fracture in her left leg suffered after her right arm got hooked in a gate while she raced in the downhill event at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Vonn's Instagram post caption read: "Definitely some hard times but still thankful… still working hard. The only goal is to get healthy. One day at a time. #icandothis."

Vonn, who also previously revealed that she suffered from compartment syndrome and nearly had to have her leg amputated, was seen doing upper body and core workouts. She also did rehab and was seen standing up out of her wheelchair and putting weight on both legs.

The 41-year-old was in the midst of an incredible comeback after knee injuries forced her to retire in Feb. 2019. She came back five years later with sights set on the 2026 Winter Olympics. Vonn won a pair of World Cup races and qualified for the Winter Games.

Unfortunately, Vonn suffered a torn ACL in her left knee during the World Cup downhill in Crans-Montana on Jan. 30, but she remained in the Olympic competition.

Vonn pressed on and remained in the Games. She confirmed the ACL injury had nothing to do with the crash.

Vonn is a three-time Olympic medalist who notably won gold at the downhill event during the 2010 Winter Games. She's an eight-time World Championship medalist with two golds in 2009 (downhill, Super-G).

In addition, Vonn has won 84 World Cup races in her career, second all-time to Mikaela Shiffrin.
