Arsenal's final five Premier League matches are against clubs currently 10th or below in the table. Before then, the Gunners need to face eighth-place Everton and second-place Manchester City.

Speaking of which, the Citizens entered their match against relegation candidate Nottingham Forest hoping for three points but only came away with one after a 2-2 draw. Manchester City led 1-0 and 2-1 but Nottingham Forest answered each time.

It's a tough break for Manchester City, which now trails Arsenal by seven points for the Premier League title. Still, they have a healthy 12-point edge over the clubs just outside the Champions League picture.

The most intrigue right now in Premier League play hovers around third and fourth place to determine the final two Champions League clubs.

Elsewhere on Wednesday, Manchester United lost a costly match against 12th-place Newcastle United, falling 2-1 and giving clubs outside the top four to further encroach upon its chances to qualify.

Chelsea also closed the gap between itself and the top four with a 4-1 victory over Aston Villa. João Pedro scored a hat trick and now has 14 goals this season.

The race to avoid relegation is on, and West Ham enjoyed a great 1-0 victory over Fulham thanks to Crysencio Summerville's 65th-minute goal. A draw or loss would have put them in the bottom three alone, but they are at least level with Nottingham Forest with nine matches remaining.

Tottenham Hotspur is a key team to watch down the stretch. They have never been relegated during the entire Premier League era (1992-onward), but that may change this year. A key matchup with Crystal Palace awaits on Thursday.
