Latest News on Stephen Curry's Injury Return Timeline for Warriors After Knee Re-Evaluated

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is set to miss a bit more time.

The veteran guard will be out for at least 10 more days, meaning he'll have to miss the team's next five contests.

Curry hasn't played since Jan. 30 while dealing with an injury known as "runner's knee," which typically consists of swelling and pain around the kneecap. He told ESPN's Malika Andrews on Feb. 28 that it'll be "a little longer" before he's able to return to the court.

"This is a weird one," Curry said at the time. "It's kind of unpredictable how it'll heal."

When healthy, Curry was performing at a high level with averages of 27.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.1 steals while shooting 39.1 percent from three-point range.

Curry's absence was devastating to a Warriors lineup that already lost star forward Jimmy Butler to a season-ending torn ACL. Golden State ranks eighth in the Western Conference with a 31-29 record and appears likely to be headed toward a spot in the play-in tournament.

Curry has maintained that his goal is to make it back in time for the playoffs, but it's hard to consider the Warriors true title contenders this season if he's at less than 100 percent.

Until Curry returns, guards Brandin Podziemski and De'Anthony Melton will continue to lead Golden State's backcourt while the team tries to stay afloat in the race for the playoffs.
