Latest Victor Wembanyama Contract Extension Rumors Reveal Details of Potential New Spurs Deal
San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama is eligible to sign a hefty contract extension on or after July 6.
According to ESPN's Bobby Marks, there will be "little negotiating" between the Spurs and Wembanyama before agreeing to a projected five-year extension worth $252 million.
Per Marks, the deal will include "All-NBA, Defensive Player of the Year and MVP language" that could raise the maximum value of the contract to $303.3 million.

Even if the contract doesn't climb to $303.3 million, a $252 million agreement would give Wembanyama the seventh-largest contract in the NBA in terms of overall value (via Spotrac).
He's currently playing on his rookie deal, as he's earning $13.4 million for the 2025-26 season before he's set to receive $16.9 million for his 2026-27 campaign.
Despite the substantial value of a possible extension, signing Wembanyama to a long-term contract should be an easy decision for San Antonio.
The 22-year-old has already established himself as one of the NBA's top two-way players, leading a Spurs squad that sits at No. 2 in the Western Conference standings with a 38-16 record.
Wembanyama has averaged 24.4 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists and a league-leading 2.7 blocks per game this season. He's shooting a career-high 51.1 percent from the field and 36.3 percent from three-point territory.
His production is especially impressive considering he's playing a career-low 29.0 minutes per game, operating under a minutes restriction earlier in the season while managing knee issues.
As Wembanyama continues to navigate through his third year in the NBA, a contract extension seems to be on the horizon.
