
Olympic Hockey 2026 Bracket for USA and Each Team After Men's Qualification Play-Off
The qualification playoff round of the men's hockey tournament at the 2026 Winter Olympics took place on Tuesday in Milan, Italy.
Here's a look at the results as well as the upcoming schedule with eight teams now left in the competition.

Germany 5, France 1
Forward Leon Draisaitl had a goal and two assists to lead No. 6 seed Germany to a 5-1 victory over No. 11 seed France.
Draisaitl's power play goal at 3:40 of the first period opened a three-goal period for the Germans, who also got scores from Frederik Tiffels and JJ Peterka.
France got one back in the second period thanks to forward Pierre-Edouard Bellemare, but Germany added two more goals in the third via the power play (forward Josh Samanski) and an empty-netter (forward Nico Sturm). Draisaitl contributed assists on both.
Germany now advances to play No. 3 seed Slovakia, which won Group B during the preliminary round.
Switzerland 3, Italy 0
Switzerland out-shot Italy 51-20 en route to a dominant 3-0 victory.
Forward Philipp Kurashev set the tone early with a goal 1:19 into the game. Switzerland got two more on the power play courtesy of defenseman Roman Josi in the first period and forward Nico Hischier in the third. Josi and Hischier also had assists.
Goaltender Leonardo Genoni earned the 20-save shutout.
Czechia 3, Denmark 2
All of the scoring in this game was done in the second period. In the end, Czechia emerged victorious 3-2, courtesy of goals from forwards Martin Necas, David Kampf and Roman Cervenka.
The two teams combined to score four goals in a 5:35 span. Czechia scored three of them to take a 3-1 lead (forward Alexander True scored Denmark's goal).
Denmark got one back before the end of the second period courtesy of forward Nick Olesen.
Czechia committed a pair of minor penalties in the third period to give Denmark two power play opportunities, but neither led to goals in a scoreless final frame.
Sweden 5, Latvia 1
Five different forwards scored goals, and forward Lucas Raymond added three assists to give Sweden a dominant 5-1 victory over Latvia.
Sweden scored goals within 41 seconds of each other in the first period courtesy of Adrian Kempe and Gabriel Landeskog for a 2-0 edge. Filip Forsberg put Sweden up 3-0 in the third period, but Latvia got one back thanks to forward Eduards Tralmaks.
However, Sweden put this game away in the third after goals from forwards Mika Zibanejad and William Nylander.
