Canada vs. France Men's Hockey Pick
2 of 3
The Canadians have been the class of the men's side of the hockey competition at this year's game, outscoring previous opponents Czechia and Switzerland, 10-1. They have looked the part of gold medal winners to this point and face a French team that is woefully outmatched.
With NHL stars Nathan McKinnon, Connor McDavid, Sidney Crosby, and Maclin Celebrini leading the way, few teams can realistically compete with Team Canada and even keep it close, let alone emerge with a victory.
France is not one of them.
Expect a long day for the opposition as Canada dominates early and often. There will be goals scored on the rebound, around the front of the net, as Canada spends most of the game on the French side of the ice.
This could be the most one-sided game of the Olympics thus far.
Prediction: Canada. By a lot.
USA vs. Germany Men's Hockey Pick
3 of 3
The Americans have kept it dramatic through their first two games of these Olympics, even trailing Denmark through the first period on Saturday.
Overwhelming speed and star power proved too much for the Dutch and Latvia down the stretch, leading to sizable wins that were not nearly as impressive as the score may suggest.
Sunday, Team USA squares off with a German team that is outmatched, lost to the same Latvian team, and is suffering from goaltending insufficiency. On paper, it is a blow-out win for the Americans, and perhaps it will be.
The speed, scoring, and goalkeeping is there, but has yet to fully come together. Against Germany would be a perfect time for the Americans to finally show off the potential dominance that could lead them to a gold medal as the only team that is a real threat to the Canadians on this world stage.
Time will tell, but this should be an American win regardless.
Prediction: USA wins big, but not as big as it should
