United States vs. Denmark Men's Hockey Pick
2 of 3
Denmark kept it close, losing just 2-1 against Germany in their first game of these Olympics. This, despite not having the depth or star power of their opponents.
That would bode well for the team as it prepares for the United States, which hung five goals on Latvia and won by four in their first game of this year's event.
With that said, the Americans are a considerable step up from the Germans and will provide difficult opposition on both sides of the puck.
While the Dutch outshot the Germans in their first game, the Americans are unlikely to allow the same.
Look for Denmark to make an early offensive but superior goaltending and an offense that includes Auston Matthews, Tage Thompson, Matthew Tkachuk, and Jack Eichel to prove too much en route to another one-sided victory for the Americans as they continue their path to a showdown with Canada.
Canada vs. Germany Women's Hockey Pick
3 of 3
Aside from their blowout loss to the Americans, the Canadians have been vastly superior to their competition in Milano Cortina and that trend should not change Saturday.
The women's team takes the ice against Germany for another game that should prove one-sided, especially with the return of Marie-Philip Poulin after suffering a knee injury.
Canada has outscored opposition not-named the United States 14-1, lighting up the net and establishing dominance. With Poulin's return to the lineup, that offensive flurry should continue against a German team that has performed admirably and enters Saturday's game with a winning record, but is no match for their opponents.
