The parade is part of the Mardi Gras festivities happening throughout the New Orleans area, leading up to Fat Tuesday on Feb. 17.
This will be the second parade of the week that Kiffin has been part of, though the first in which he is going to be physically present. During the Knights of Chaos parade on Thursday, Kiffin was featured on one of the floats named "Ole Misstake" in a nod to his previous job at Mississippi.
It was done in good fun since the Knights of Chaos are a satirical krewe known for skewering prominent figures in pop culture.
Per the Mardi Gras New Orleans website, Endymion was originally founded in 1967 and has gone on to become one of the most popular parades during Mardi Gras that attendees will start showing up to secure a viewing spot "in the early morning hours, even though the parade doesn't start until evening."
Kiffin officially took over as LSU's head coach on Dec. 1 after signing a seven-year, $91 million contract with the program. He will be tasked with turning around a Tigers team that went 7-6 last year, their third-fewest wins in a season since 2000.
The 50-year-old Kiffin went 55-19 in six seasons at Ole Miss. He is 116-53 overall in 14 years as a head coach dating back to 2009.
