NBA Dunk Contest Legend Mac McClung Reportedly Lands Bulls Contract Ahead of Trade Deadline
The Chicago Bulls continued tinkering their roster with another new addition ahead of Thursday's trade deadline.
Per NBA insider Jake Fischer, the Bulls are signing three-time NBA Dunk Contest champion Mac McClung to a two-way contract, and he is already with the team for Thursday night's road game against the Toronto Raptors.
McClung started the 2025-26 season by signing a multi-year deal with the Indiana Pacers in October, but he played just three games before he was waived in November. He joined Chicago's G League affiliate, the Windy City Bulls, and averaged 23.5 points and 7.0 assists in 11 games this season.

This marks McClung's second run with the Bulls, as he also made his NBA debut with the team in 2021-22.
While McClung hasn't been able to make much of an impact during his NBA career, he's etched his name in the history books by winning the Slam Dunk Contest in each of the last three years. His dazzling slams helped him become the second player ever to win the Dunk Contest three times, alongside Nate Robinson.
The Bulls have been one of the most active teams on the trade market in recent days with a slew of deals. Chicago has added guards Anfernee Simons, Jaden Ivey and Collin Sexton and forwards Ousmane Dieng and Guerschon Yabusele while shipping away some key players, including sharpshooting guards Coby White and Kevin Huerter and veteran center Nikola Vucevic.
At 24-27, the Bulls rank 10th in the Eastern Conference. Chicago has been in the play-in tournament in each of the last three seasons, but the team has failed to make it to the playoffs each time.
Adding McClung gives the Bulls some extra backcourt depth as they try to end their postseason drought this year.
