Michigan Football Top Remaining Recruits and 2026 Recruiting Class Predictions
The unexpected Kyle Whittingham era at Michigan is ready to close the 2026 recruiting cycle and enter the next stage of the offseason.
As things stand, the Wolverines have the 12th-ranked incoming class in college football, though they are lagging behind fellow Big Ten foes like Ohio State (No. 2), USC (No. 5) and Oregon (No. 8).
Here's a rundown of where things stand in Ann Arbor heading into National Signing Day.
All recruiting data is from the 247Sports Composite Ranking.
Note: Although he's a part of the 2026 cycle, 4-star athlete Salesi Moa technically is a transfer and isn't included in Michigan's official class.

Remaining Targets
2 of 3
To our knowledge, Michigan has no remaining targets in 2026.
Whittingham and Co. moved quickly to retain the prospects that signed in the December window. Although a few requested and received a release from their letters of intent, Michigan kept a strong majority of the class intact.
Then, instead of taking a few fliers on available high school prospects, the former Utah coach prioritized the portal to bulk up the roster.
While it's possible that another player like defender Ndi Etta pops up—he committed on Feb. 1 but doesn't have a 247 profile—this cycle is over for U-M.
Predictions
3 of 3
The main storyline of the February signing period will be Michigan receiving a national letter of intent from 3-star cornerback Ernest Nunley.
Committed to Cal since last summer, he asked for a release from the Golden Bears in mid-January. Nunley had signed with the program in December, but Cal assistants Terrence Brown and Allen Brown—who coached defensive backs in Berkeley—left for Boise State and Kentucky, respectively.
Nunley is effectively the final unsigned target for the Wolverines, soon solidifying a class that ranks 12th nationally.
Expect no drama as Michigan wraps up its 2026 haul.
