
2015 USA Hockey Hall of Fame Class Revealed: Latest Comments and Reaction
The United States Hockey Hall of Fame announced the 2015 class Monday, with Ron DeGregorio, Chris Drury, Angela Ruggiero and Mathieu Schneider the newest inductees.
USA Hockey tweeted the news:
Drury scored 615 points and 255 goals in 12 NHL seasons with the Colorado Avalanche, Calgary Flames, Buffalo Sabers and New York Rangers, winning the Stanley Cup with Colorado in 2001. He also represented the United States in three Winter Olympics (2002, 2006, 2010).
Mathieu Schneider is one of the most decorated American defensemen in history, spending 21 seasons in the NHL with the Montreal Canadiens, New York Islanders, Toronto Maple Leafs, Rangers, Los Angeles Kings, Detroit Red Wings, Anaheim Ducks, Atlanta Thrashers, Vancouver Canucks and Phoenix Coyotes. He won a Stanley Cup with Montreal in 1993 and finished his career with 743 points. He represented the United States at the 1998 and 2006 Winter Olympics.
Ruggiero set the record for games played for Team USA (256) and helped the team win gold in 1998, silver in 2002 and 2010 and a bronze in 2006 while being named the top defenseman in the tournament in both 2002 and 2006.
DeGregorio, the current co-chair of the USA Hockey Board of Directors and former president (a position he held for 12 years) is most well-known for starting the USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program in 1996. He has served USA Hockey in some capacity since 1973.
