The Basketball Tournament 2015: Championship Schedule After Semifinal Results
Even though the NBA is on its summer hiatus, there's still intense basketball being played in Chicago. The Basketball Tournament resumed Saturday with Team 23 and Overseas Elite winning in the semifinals to set up a winner-take-all finale showdown Sunday.
And it truly is a winner-take-all event, with the members of Team 23 or Overseas Elite walking away with a $1 million grand prize. Team 23 got here by knocking off Ants Alumni 87-76, while Overseas Elite defeated the only remaining No. 1 seed Team City of Gods 84-71.
There are also plenty of players that have taken part in this tournament who casual fans have heard of, like Royce White and Nate Robinson. Neither of those players will have a chance to play for a title, but it speaks to how high-profile this event has become.

Zach Andrews set the tone for Team 23 against Ants Alumni right out of the gate, posterizing Chris Porter with a one-handed slam at the basket.
Former pro basketball player Tejay Flanagan commented on Twitter after seeing Andrews' dunk, noting it was nothing he hasn't seen before:
"Played against Zach Andrews in Turkey. His claim to fame was making @SportsCenter for jumping over someone in JUCO on a dunk
— Justice 4 all (@ImTejay) August 1, 2015"
Based on that response, Andrews is backing himself into a corner and needs to do something even more spectacular in Sunday's competition. A victory would be the best prize of all because of everything that's up for grabs.
Andrews is the epitome of how Team 23 has been built, which in many ways reflects this current era of basketball. The team is very athletic and boasts a lot of players with size, as the official synopsis on The Tournament's official website says:
"Team 23 looks to be more like Los Angeles Clippers: a tall, athletic team with six players standing over 6’7”. They’ll end up in a lot of high pick-and-rolls with experienced lead guard Alex Scales. (General manager Michael) Illiano, who runs the Valley of the Sun Pro Am in Phoenix, has constructed a team that features some of Arizona’s top talent with the length to match up with any team in the field defensively.
"
Another problem that Overseas Elite will run into in the championship game is Team 23's defensive presence on the inside.
Augustine Okosun provided a highlight of his own against Ants Alumni with a huge block on Trey McKinney-Jones at the hoop, via TBT's official Twitter account:
Yet there's no denying that Overseas Elite has the talent to keep up with Team 23, and can even create some matchup problems. While Team 23 is loaded with size, Overseas Elite has some of the best shooters in the tournament.
Errick McCollum, brother of 2013 first-round pick C.J. McCollum, made headlines in January by scoring 82 points in a game with the Zhejiang Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association.
He's joined on the roster by Travis Bader, who set a Division-I record for most career three-point field goals made in 2014 while at Oakland University. Overseas Elite is capable of spreading the floor, getting scoring from the inside or kicking things back out behind the arc.
It's a matchup of contrasting styles, even though Team 23 can do more things because of its size and athleticism. Overseas Elite isn't as big overall, but it has more consistent offensive firepower to rely on in the title game.
In a battle of the unstoppable force and immovable object, go with the bigger team. Team 23 will prove to be too much for Overseas Elite on Sunday and will walk away with bragging rights and a whole lot of cash.
