Arch Manning Injury Update, Timeline to Return for Texas After Foot Surgery
Texas quarterback Arch Manning recently underwent minor foot surgery as a preventative measure in order to address a previous injury, according to Tara Brolley of CBS Austin.
Manning is expected to be limited during offseason workouts but will return for spring football practice, per Brolley.
He didn't miss any time for the Longhorns during the 2025 season, starting in all 13 games.
Manning operated as a backup behind Quinn Ewers in 2023 and 2024 before heading into his 2025 campaign as Texas' full-time starter.
Expectations were high for the 21-year-old and the Longhorns, as they were ranked No. 1 in the preseason AP Top 25 poll.
Manning dealt with some inconsistency to open the year as Texas started off with a 3-2 record, completing 60.0 percent of his throws for 1,151 yards and 11 touchdowns compared to five interceptions across his first five appearances.
He grew more comfortable as the season continued, throwing for 2,012 yards and 15 touchdowns while getting picked off twice over his final eight games. Manning also completed 62.1 percent of his throws over that span.
It's unclear exactly when he dealt with the foot issue that ultimately required surgery, although it didn't stop him from making plays with his legs throughout the year. Manning rushed for 399 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Texas finished with a 10-3 record, but missed the College Football Playoff before taking down Michigan by the final score of 41-27 in the Citrus Bowl.
The Longhorns will have their sights set on a potential playoff appearance once again in 2026, as head coach Steve Sarkisian's program compiled the No. 3 transfer class in the country (via 247Sports).
As for Manning, he doesn't appear to be in any danger of missing time next season after undergoing the procedure.
