Liverpool's Alexander Isak Undergoes Surgery, Latest Injury Update and Return Timeline
Liverpool striker Alexander Isak has undergone surgery for a fractured left leg, according to James Pearce of The Athletic and Aadam Patel of BBC Sport.
The injury is expected to keep him out of action for several months, though a recovery timeline has yet to be announced.
Isak's debut season for Liverpool hasn't gone to plan.

The 26-year-old striker essentially held out over the summer, trying to force a transfer away from Newcastle. Liverpool eventually prevailed in that saga, buying him for a Premier League-record £125 million ($170 million) transfer fee.
Thus far, it hasn't been money well spent.
Isak has managed just two goals and an assist in 10 league games (six starts), a far cry from his torrid scoring pace the previous two seasons for Newcastle (21 goals and two assists in 2023-24, 23 goals and six assists in 2024-25). He also hasn't scored in five Champions League appearances.
Liverpool spent a massive $304 million alone to bring aboard Isak and attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz, and both have been disappointments to this point. With Mohamed Salah also taking a step back in form, the defending champions have managed just 29 points from 17 matches, leaving them fifth on the table but 10 points behind leaders Arsenal.
At this point, repeating as champions feels like a long shot. The real battle this season will likely be maintaining a UCL spot. Isak was expected to be a major factor in both of those chases, but now Liverpool will have to call on its suite of other attackers to pick up the slack.
