Cena Farewell Tour to Subject of Documentary

Cameras were following John Cena throughout his final run with WWE. WrestleVotes Radio (via Felix Upton of Ringside News) reported Peacock will release a documentary about Cena's send-off.

The project could arrive as early as mid-2026.

In general, the 17-time world champion achieved a lot of objectives during his last go-round. He turned heel, something fans have been asking to see for more than a decade. He beat Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania to start his record-setting title run. He became a Grand Slam champion. He called back to past rivalries with Randy Orton, CM Punk, AJ Styles and Brock Lensar. And he made Gunther look like a million bucks in his last match.

On the whole, Cena's farewell tour wasn't universally praised by the WWE Universe, though. His heel turn fizzled out thanks to The Rock's abrupt exit from the storyline. His loss to Gunther was somewhat divisive as well despite him putting The Ring General over.

Still, plenty of fans will be curious to get a peek behind the curtain and relive the last year.

LA Knight Reportedly Sidelined Until 2026

Don't expect to see LA Knight on WWE programming before the new year. Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp (via Steve Carrier of Ringside News) reported the two-time United States champion is "off until 2026 at least."

Knight got written off television indefinitely with a backstage assault at the hands of Bronson Reed and Logan Paul on the Dec. 8 edition of Raw.

Sapp also pushed back on the idea that WWE is souring on the 43-year-old in some way, pointing to the fact he reached the final of Cena's The Last Time is Now tournament. He's reportedly penciled in as a key piece for the upcoming year.

Giving Knight a break, beyond letting him rest up, might be a way for the WWE creative team to keep him on ice before his path for WrestleMania 42 is clear.

In a way, removing a wrestler from the picture entirely can be a better way to position them for a major push rather than have them tread water for a few weeks or even months.

WWE Pauses Signings... with Some Exceptions

Fans have grown accustomed to seeing a wave of releases from WWE in the aftermath of WrestleMania. The company might be taking proactive steps to keeping its roster at a reasonable level.

Dave Meltzer reported in the newest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that (via Julien D'Alessandro of Wrestling Inc) that WWE is signaling it isn't trying to sign talent from AEW, TNA or other promotions.

However, exceptions could be made in order to bring Chris Jericho, Leon Slater, or another notable wrestler into the fold. Otherwise, WWE is content to build around who it already has coming up through the developmental pipeline.

In terms of the wider bottom line, the cost of wrestlers signed to NXT or working out of the Performance Center is minimal. But WWE will want to avoid creating a logjam where stars who need some fine-tuning aren't afforded the time and focus they require.
