
Chris Henry's WVU Teammate Makes Viral Post About Sons Playing in OSU-Michigan Rivalry
Chris Henry Jr., the son of late Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry, gained a rival with ties to his father after committing to Ohio State on Friday.
Tory Johnson Sr., who played with the elder Henry in college at West Virginia, discussed his son's connection to Henry after he signed with Michigan.
"My son Travis Savage Johnson signed with Michigan," Johnson wrote in a post on X. "Today, Chris Henry Jr. signed with Ohio State. Me and his father, Chris Henry Sr., were teammates at WVU. Rest in peace, brother — I know you're smiling down. Now our sons will face off in one of the biggest rivalries in college."

The younger Henry decided between Ohio State, Oregon, USC, and Texas before ultimately picking the Buckeyes. He's a 5-star prospect who's listed as the No. 1 wide receiver and No. 10 overall player in the country as part of the 2026 recruiting class, per 247Sports' composite rankings.
Travis Johnson is also a wide receiver, committing to Michigan on July 4 before officially signing with the Wolverines on Wednesday. He's ranked as the No. 14 wideout in the 2026 recruiting class, via 247Sports.
Both players are set to experience the storied Big Ten rivalry between Ohio State in Michigan, with the two schools facing off in "The Game" on an annual basis dating back to 1897.
As for their fathers, Chris and Tory were teammates at West Virginia during the 2003 season. Chris hauled in 41 receptions for 1,006 yards and 10 touchdowns, while Tory caught three passes for 37 yards and two scores.
The Mountaineers finished with a record of 8-5, sharing the 2003 Big East title with Miami.
Now, their sons will embark on their respective college journeys.
