
Michigan Players Defend Midfield Logo on Video After Loss to No. 1 OSU in Rivalry Game
Following No. 1 Ohio State's 27-9 road win over No. 15 Michigan in a rivalry game at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, the Wolverines protected their midfield logo.
Michigan's players stood at midfield while Ohio State reveled in its victory to ensure that the Buckeyes didn't attempt to celebrate on the "M" logo:

In a postgame interview on the field, OSU head coach Ryan Day suggested there were no plans to congregate at midfield, saying, "We're going to win with humility."
Last year, when Michigan upset Ohio State 13-10 at Ohio Stadium, some Wolverines players planted a flag at midfield, which led to an altercation with OSU players:
Two years earlier, cornerback Mike Sainristil, who now plays for the NFL's Washington Commanders, planted the Michigan flag on Ohio State's logo as well:
Entering Saturday's game, Michigan had recently dominated "The Game," beating Ohio State on four straight occasions with the Buckeyes' last win in the rivalry coming back in 2019.
Ohio State bounced back from last season's loss to Michigan, as it reached the College Football Playoff and won the national championship. Still, critics questioned whether Day could get the job done against the Wolverines.
Those question marks were erased Saturday, as the Buckeyes outscored the Wolverines 27-3 after falling behind 6-0 to start the game.
Freshman quarterback Julian Sayin was perhaps the biggest difference-maker, going 19-of-26 for 233 yards, three touchdowns and one interception for Ohio State.
While OSU didn't storm midfield after the game, the Buckeyes players were understandably boisterous in the tunnel as they made their way back to the locker room:
By virtue of Saturday's win, the Buckeyes completed a perfect 12-0 regular season, setting up a Big Ten Championship Game clash with the only other undefeated FBS team in No. 2 Indiana.
