Isack Hadjar to Drive for Red Bull F1 in 2026 Season As Max Verstappen's Teammate
Max Verstappen is going to have a new Red Bull teammate for the 2026 F1 season.
Oracle Red Bull announced Tuesday it will team Isack Hadjar with the legendary driver, which is a full-circle moment considering they previously met:
Elsewhere, it was revealed Yuki Tsunoda will remain with Red Bull as a test and reserve driver, while Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad will compete for the Racing Bulls:
Tsunoda joined Red Bull in 2019 as part of its Junior Team and has been in various driving roles since. He raced for Oracle Red Bull this season starting at this year's Japan Grand Prix.
As for Hadjar, he is just 21 years old and competed for Racing Bulls this year in his rookie Formula One season. He finished on the podium at the Dutch Grand Prix in August alongside his now teammate.
Verstappen finished just ahead of him in second place, while Oscar Piastri won the event.
"I'm so grateful to Oracle Red Bull Racing for giving me the opportunity and trust to race at the highest level of Formula One," Hadjar said in the team's press release. "After all the hard work I have put in since joining the Junior Team, it's such a great reward. I've had many ups and downs throughout my career, and they kept believing and pushing me.
"This year with Visa Cash App Racing Bulls has been absolutely amazing, I've learnt a lot and secured a maiden podium. I feel I'm much better as a racing driver and a person, due to the Team's support and preparation. I feel ready to go to Oracle Red Bull Racing and I am happy and proud they feel the same. It's an awesome move, to work with the best and learn from Max is something I can't wait for."
Hadjar will be under the spotlight racing for Red Bull and alongside an F1 legend like Verstappen, and he will be doing so during a year that will bring the "biggest shake-up to the technical regulations for several decades in 2026 and the debut of Red Bull Ford Powertrains on track," per the announcement.
Red Bull is in third place in this year's Constructors standings, although Verstappen has charged up the driver standings with two consecutive wins at the Las Vegas Grand Prix and the Qatar Grand Prix.
He is just 12 points behind Lando Norris with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix remaining.
If he can make up the deficit, it will mark a fifth straight individual title.
