Barcelona Transfer News: Latest Big-Name Rumours Linked to European Champions
Arsenal star midfielder Aaron Ramsey has admitted he is flattered by Barcelona's reported interest in his signature but says he is happy to stay in England for now.
However, the player admitted he would one day like to follow in the footsteps of Wales team-mate Gareth Bale and find his way to Spanish football, as reported by Stuart James of the Guardian:
"Obviously it’s very flattering. They [Barcelona] did the treble last year and it’s just really nice to be linked with one of the best clubs in the world. One day I would like to go over to Spain to play just to see what it’s like and to experience that. But at the moment I’m with Arsenal and I feel like this Arsenal team can go and be successful and challenge for things.
"

The Sun (h/t Tom Sheen of the Independent) reported Barca were preparing a £50 million move for the starlet, who has grown in stature since signing for the Gunners as a teenager in 2008.
Blaugrana coach Luis Enrique scouted Ramsey on no fewer than 10 occasions last year, per Sheen, with the Champions League holders clearly keen on the Welshman.
Ramsey has been a prominent figure for Arsene Wenger since his breakthrough campaign in 2013-14. The midfielder grabbed 10 goals and eight assists in 23 EPL matches that year, per WhoScored.com, positioning himself as one of Europe's brightest talents.
Last season was a tougher experience for the player, often being played out of position on the right side of midfield, but there is no doubt Ramsey can still flourish as a central entity.
Ramsey is the epitome of the modern attacking midfielder, with a smart finish in front of goal, and developed in the Arsenal philosophy of possession football. This makes him the perfect Barcelona target in many ways, but the price quoted does seem unrealistic.
Ramsey is a good age at 24 and has plenty of potential left in him, but £50m would be an incredible fee for the midfielder. However, Raheem Sterling's recent switch to Manchester City shows the premium currently placed on the heads of young British talent, and Arsenal would certainly not be willing sellers.
However, Ramsey's statement does indicate he will one day find his way to La Liga—and if Barca do offer the big money, a move may come sooner rather than later.
Pedro to United Rumours Flourish

Manchester United are set to meet with Barcelona to discuss the imminent transfer of Pedro, with the Spanish international's days at the Camp Nou numbered.
Miguel Delaney of ESPN FC says the Red Devils hope to conclude a deal for the attacker in the coming days, as United pave the way for Angel Di Maria's exit to Paris Saint-Germain.
Delaney says Barca are "resigned" to losing the much-loved 27-year-old, with the player well down the pecking order after Luis Suarez's arrival last summer.
Writer Jonas Giaever translated an El Pais report as to what will happen next with the player, with the Blaugrana waiting until after the European Super Cup final on August 11 to sell:
Pedro has been a loyal servant to Barca, and supporters will be sad to see him go. However, the time is right to sell—and if the club can negotiate a good fee from United, it will represent good business by Enrique.
Pedro was vital to the balancing act needed in Barcelona's forward line over the years, but the arrival of Suarez—providing the team with a bona fide striker—negated his presence.
Ramsey would be the perfect replacement for Pedro in the Barcelona squad, and the Spanish player's fee would go some way to supplement the huge value of the Arsenal star.
But with the Gunners looking to win the EPL next term, it is highly unlikely they will wish to do business with a Champions League rival, no matter the price offered.
