Early National Signing Day 2025 Announcement Schedule, Predictions and More
College football's December signing period begins on Wednesday.
Many of the sport's powerhouse programs are once again near the top of the recruiting rankings.
At the moment, the USC Trojans are ahead of the Georgia Bulldogs in the 247 Sports team rankings. The Alabama Crimson Tide, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Oregon Ducks complete the top five.

Most of the top recruits have already made their decisions, a sign of how accelerated the recruiting timelines are in the transfer portal and NIL era. 247 Sports has the full announcement schedule for those players yet to commit.
Not a ton of change will happen at the top of the player rankings since the teams at the top have locked in most of their recruiting classes and they have stable coaching situations.
Most of the changes over the next week will involve teams, like the LSU Tigers, Ole Miss Rebels and Penn State Nittany Lions that are going through coaching changes.
Penn State might be in the most trouble of any team experiencing change at the top. The Nittany Lions currently have the 120th-ranked class.
Penn State's Big Ten counterpart, USC, is on top of the current team rankings because of its focus on recruiting in its home state. The Trojans have 19 commits from California, including nine four-star recruits.
Georgia's position might change depending on what happens with quarterback Jared Curtis.
Curtis, the No. 3 overall recruit, is the highest-ranked recruit who could change schools. The Vanderbilt Commodores are pushing to sign the in-state quarterback.
Alabama, Notre Dame and Oregon are tied for the most five-star commitments at the moment with four each. All three of those programs could leap Georgia if Curtis departs its class of 2026.
Predictions:
Team Rankings: 1. USC, 2. Alabama, 3. Notre Dame, 4. Georgia, 5. Oregon
Highest-Profile Commitment: QB Jared Curtis flips from Georgia to Vanderbilt.
