Manchester United Transfer News: Angel Di Maria Plans Goodbye Amid PSG Rumours
Angel Di Maria has likely played his last match for Manchester United and is destined to join Paris Saint-Germain, according to Ed Malyon of the Mirror, who cites a source close to the Red Devils.
The Argentinian is "not expected" to feature for Louis van Gaal's side again, despite signing for £59.7 million only last summer.
James Robson of the Manchester Evening News also suggests the transfer could be completed in the coming days and that United have deliberately failed to rule out cashing in:
B/R UK's Jonathan Johnson passed along word that United could raise approximately £46 million from letting Di Maria go:
The signs have certainly continued to point toward Di Maria saying goodbye. Despite an early run of good form upon his arrival, a spell of poor performances forced Van Gaal to rotate him in and out of the side.
Di Maria has a wonderful ability to create chances from nothing, but he often showed a lack of effort for United last season.

ESPN FC's Alex Shaw believes Di Maria will go down in United history, but not in the manner many would have expected when he signed:
Malyon suggests Barcelona's Pedro Rodriguez is likely to be Di Maria's replacement. He is available for a decent price of £22 million and would add a versatile attacking threat to the squad's front line.
However, a traditional striker is still needed to compete with Wayne Rooney and youngster James Wilson for a spot in the team.
Guardian journalist Jamie Jackson believes Bayern Munich's Thomas Muller is the man Van Gaal wishes to snap up. As told to the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT, Jackson indicates the player could be tempted, although Bayern aren't happy to sell:
"(Bayern Munich chairman) Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has said he won't sell another star, after Bastian Schweinsteiger joined United, because it's a bit difficult politically," said Jackson. "Muller is open to the move though, so you never know in football."

Football journalist Rafael Honigstein, talking to Hawksbee and Jacobs on talkSPORT, also claimed "there would be riots in the streets of Munich" if Muller is allowed to leave.
Robson expects a massive name to arrive before the end of the current transfer window:
Losing Di Maria would be a huge blow for the club who must continue to improve under Van Gaal.
New signing Memphis Depay has performed well during his two pre-season outings, but United need experienced winners if they are going to challenge Chelsea and Manchester City atop the Premier League pile. Pedro and Muller have achieved it all and are more than capable of shining in England.
Business is never straightforward with Van Gaal, nor is playing under his rule. His famous ruthlessness will be underlined if Di Maria departs, but as United look to land their first trophy since Sir Alex Ferguson retired, he cannot afford to keep players who aren't 100 percent focused on the task ahead.
