NBA Rumors: Latest News on Danilo Gallinari, Jeffery Taylor and More
Moving Ty Lawson has given the Denver Nuggets a nice bit of financial freedom. According to Christopher Dempsey of the Denver Post, the new flexibility should produce new contracts for a couple of returning Nuggets. Dempsey writes:
"Using some of the financial flexibility they gained in the recent Ty Lawson trade, the Nuggets are finalizing a contract extension with forward Danilo Gallinari and will also sign free agent Darrell Arthur, according to NBA sources."
Gallinari is a skilled offensive player, and Arthur is a decent backup big man, but when a team that was 30-52 brings players back, it can't be too exciting for the fanbase.
Gallinari did miss 23 games last season, so having him for what the team hopes will be a full season is positive. Denver will also be hoping to see second-year pros Gary Harris and Jusuf Nurkic make significant strides. The Nuggets also drafted Emmanuel Mudiay with the No. 7 pick in the 2015 NBA draft to play point guard, so there's some room for optimism.
Still, it'll be at least a few years before this team is ready to contend for a playoff spot in the Western Conference.
Jeffery Taylor on His Way to Spain

Per Shams Charania of RealGM, former Charlotte Hornets forward Jeffery Taylor is close to signing with Spanish team Real Madrid:
Taylor spent the last three seasons with the Hornets, but his career was derailed slightly by a suspension for a domestic violence charge in 2014. Taylor appeared in 29 games for the Hornets last season, but his scoring average dropped to 4.4 points from eight per game the previous season.
A strong stint in Spain could revitalize Taylor's career.
Mike James Will Have Some Interest

The Phoenix Suns came up short in their efforts to win the Las Vegas Summer League championship, but it wasn't because of Mike James. He went for 32 points in the final game and showed his ability to score points in bunches.
Because of his performance, he's on the radar of a few NBA teams, per Shams Charania of RealGM:
"Multiple teams pursuing Suns summer PG Mike James, who's inclined to play one more season in Spain before cap rise and flexibility in 2016.

James' game is reminiscent of a more controlled Jannero Pargo. He has excellent handle and a smooth stroke on his jump shot. It's understandable he might wait until next year to come to the NBA with salaries expected to rise in 2016.
As it stands, he could almost certainly earn more money in Spain than he could in the NBA this season. He's theoretically betting on himself, as it might take another strong summer-league performance in 2016 to be a hot commodity this time next year.
