Samoa Joe Beats Hangman Page to Win AEW World Title At Full Gear After Heel Turn
Samoa Joe beat "Hangman" Adam Page in a steel cage match at Full Gear on Saturday to become a two-time AEW world champion.
The meeting at Full Gear represented a rematch from last month's WrestleDream pay-per-view, which saw Page defeat Joe to retain the AEW world title.

While Page and Joe were previously friendly with each other, even working together at times against Jon Moxley and The Death Riders, tempers flared between them following a six-man tag team match on the Oct. 1 episode of Dynamite.
Joe was unhappy that Page tagged himself into the match, and after Joe made mention of the fact that Page had never beaten him before, Hangman offered to put his title on the line at WrestleDream.
After the match, Joe's stablemates from The Opps, Powerhouse Hobbs and Katsuyori Shibata, entered the ring, and it looked as though all four men were going to bury the hatchet in a show of respect.
However, The Opps surprisingly turned heel by attacking Page, and Joe put an exclamation point on the assault by hitting Hangman with a Muscle Buster onto the AEW world title belt.
Coming out of WrestleDream, Joe got an opportunity to earn another AEW World Championship shot by competing in a four-way match for the No. 1 contendership.
On the Oct. 29 Fright Night edition of Dynamite, Joe beat Bobby Lashley, Ricochet and Hook to become No. 1 contender, setting the stage for a rematch with Page at Full Gear.
Page got the last laugh on the Fright Night Dynamite, though, as he dressed like AEW announcer and interviewer Tony Schiavone, which allowed him to launch a sneak attack on Joe.
Embarrassed by the deception, Joe was out for revenge at Full Gear, and he got it, while also securing the AEW World Championship in the process.
