AEW Dynamite Results, Winners, Live Grades, Reaction and Highlights from Oct. 29

Kevin BergeOct 29, 2025

All Elite Wrestling presented a special October 29 edition of Dynamite, Fright Night, including multiple No. 1 Contender matches and the beginning of the Women's World Tag Team Championships tournament.

Bobby Lashley, Ricochet, Samoa Joe and Hook fought for the chance to face AEW world champion "Hangman" Adam Page. Would The Samoan Submission Machine earn himself a second shot at the champ?

Meanwhile, FTR, The Young Bucks, JetSpeed, and Jurassic Express battled for an opportunity to challenge world tag team champion Brodido. Who was ready to step up next to Bandido and Brody King?

Jamie Hayter and Queen Aminata earned the opportunity to fight anyone in the first round of the women's tag tournament and chose The Sisters of Sin, Julia Hart and Skye Blue. Would this call pay off in the opening quarterfinal clash?

Kyle O'Reilly got a second tilt at Jon Moxley after the former world champion intentionally attacked the referee to escape their first match.

In a Trick of Treat Tornado Tag, Darby Allin and Orange Cassidy brought the fight to Daniel Garcia and Wheeler Yuta.

Don Callis called for a Family Summit to address the status of his gigantic group. What would he have to say especially to Konosuke Takeshita and Kazuchika Okada?

This was the foundation of a spooky night of action that had a chance to set up a massive card for Full Gear on November 22.

Trick or Treat Tornado: Darby Allin & Orange Cassidy vs. Daniel Garcia & Wheeler Yuta

1 of 7

Last Time in Action: Daniel Garcia, Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli lost to Orange Cassidy, Mark Briscoe and Roderick Strong (Dynamite, October 22, 2025); Darby Allin and Cassidy defeated Castagnoli and Pac (Dynamite, November 6, 2024).

Darby Allin and Orange Cassidy were too much for Daniel Garcia and Wheeler Yuta, who looked better together but fell when The Daredevil made Yuta tap out to the Scorpion Deathlock.

Allin and Cassidy have teamed up a few times each year and typically look good together. This was no different.

The bigger long-term story is how well Garcia and Yuta are meshing. This is not surprising given their chemistry as opponents, but they are getting better with each opportunity.

At this point, Garcia and Yuta are the fall guys for The Death Riders, but they also feel like the team with the greatest likelihood to eventually win tag team gold.

Allin is still riding high and could not lose here. The main question with The Daredevil is how high he can reach. Could he be a real threat in the Continental Classic? Will he eventually step up to Hangman?

Result

Allin and Cassidy def. Garcia and Yuta by submission.

Grade

B

Notable Moments and Observations

  • For the table enthusiasts, Garcia held down Cassidy while Yuta dived onto Freshly Squeezed through one.
  • Allin lured Garcia into grabbing his skateboard, setting up a Code Red for a near-fall.
  • Cassidy caught Yuta with a diving DDT followed by a Coffin Drop. Red Death was supposed to break up the pin but was late, forcing a near-fall kickout.

No. 1 Contender: FTR vs. JetSpeed vs. Jurassic Express vs. Young Bucks

2 of 7

Last Time in Action: Jurassic Express and JetSpeed defeated FTR and The Young Bucks (Collision, October 25).

Don Callis caught Matt and Nick Jackson before the match to offer a spot in The Family and then showed what he could give them with an extra special entrance complete with Callis hype announcing.

After a wild match with non-stop action, Kevin Knight caught Matt with a UFO Splash, but Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler slipped into the ring for a Shatter Machine to win.

This could have gone any number of ways. With The Young Bucks still struggling and FTR's built-in story with Brodido, this outcome makes the most sense.

Bandido and Brody King pinned FTR to win the tag titles in a result FTR has disputed ever since. Now, Brodido can prove their greatness against one of AEW's most prolific tag teams.

Jurassic Express losing here delays the rise up the card for Jack Perry and Luchasaurus, but they were not factored into the decision to protect them.

This was a fantastic match and likely to be the crowd's favorite of the night as it was wild throughout, never letting up on a break-neck pace.

JetSpeed was never likely to win, but "Speedball" Mike Bailey and "Jet" Kevin Knight stole the show with their wild speed.

Result

FTR def. JetSpeed, Young Bucks and Jurassic Express by pinfall to earn an AEW World Tag Team Championships match at Full Gear.

Grade

A

Notable Moments and Observations

  • The Young Bucks were not ready for the level of pyro Callis prepared for them.
  • Stokely Hathaway joined commentary, mostly hating on everyone except FTR.
  • Bailey dived onto the field of wrestlers outside followed by Knight looking to dive, only to get caught by Cash for a superplex onto everyone.
  • Luchasaurus splashed FTR and the Bucks in each corner and then stood tall over the heels. He was the most popular man in this match.
  • The Bucks hit Dax with a Shatter Machine, causing Stokely to ask if they could sue. They then hit Knight with a BTE Trigger for the wildest near-fall of the night.

The Don Callis Family Summit

3 of 7

Don Callis presented the Family Summit where the group went over the four most important questions that defined The Family:

  • Who is The Family? Rocky Romero answered with an ugly painting of the whole group.
  • What is The Family? Josh Alexander presented a dramatic video package highlighting the group's dominance.
  • Why is The Family? Kyle Fletcher went over the odd oath they all had to sign to join, promising loyalty.
  • How does The Family work? Callis explained that everything goes through him.

Konosuke Takeshita arrived late but was cut off by Callis, who asked him to shake hands with Kazuchika Okada.

While The Alpha eventually acquiesced, The Rainmaker gave him a middle finger instead. Callis then demanded they team together on Collision.

This was an intentionally obnoxious segment that went longer to sell that point. The important part began when Takeshita arrived, coming off like a massive star.

The ending was significantly better than the rest, and it continues to sell Takeshita vs. Okada as the biggest match possible in AEW right now.

At some point soon, The Family will turn on Takeshita, but when it will happen is still uncertain. If the much anticipated match is happening in the C2 finals, the turn is likely to be after the tournament.

While that feels like a ways off, the tourney would keep The Alpha and The Rainmaker apart in a believable way despite all this rising tension.

Since Takeshita is the IWGP world heavyweight champion, it is also very believable that even a treacherous man like Callis is hesitant to take the shot and lose a top title.

The bigger question is whether Takeshita will be the only one leaving The Family. The Protostar turning on The Alpha would be more devastating than Callis.

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Hechicero got a loud chant at the start of this segment.
  • Bryan Danielson also showed Hechicero love as he wore an Hechicero mask on commentary for the show, giving AEW a two-masked-men booth.
  • Even if it was limited, it was good to give The Walking Weapon some mic time in this segment. Rocky's mic time was less needed.
  • Fletcher yelled for Takeshita to not listen to the fans as they chanted for Takeshita.
  • AEW showed a nice video of Bandido celebrating his wrestling journey with his abuela.

Jon Moxley (w/ Marina Shafir) vs. Kyle O'Reilly

4 of 7

Last Time in Action: Kyle O'Reilly defeated Jon Moxley by disqualification (Dynamite, October 22).

Jon Moxley found himself overwhelmed and terrified in a rematch with Kyle O'Reilly, who kept wrapping him up into various submission holds.

Luckily for The Death Rider, KOR lost track of the count outside while choking out Mox with a guillotine, causing a double count-out.

Afterward, The Death Riders struck out at KOR until The Conglomeration and Darby Allin arrived. Mark Briscoe gave the mic to Orange Cassidy to declare the need for "Blood and Guts."

This was a bit more of a rushed affair from Mox and KOR, but they have great chemistry that was on full display in this contest.

As a follow-up to the strong booking of last week, it makes sense that AEW still was not ready to deliver a definitive result.

A double count-out due to O'Reilly losing track of the count was not nearly as effective as last week, though. It would made more sense to give him a count-out after Mox walked out.

The Blood & Guts call has been made, so AEW will deliver two B&G matches in November.

Hopefully, the women's match will still be the priority as the first-time contest is what matters most for this women's division.

The Death Riders losing in B&G could be the final nail for this current form of the group, especially if Moxley is the one to quit.

Result

Moxley and KOR go to a double count-out.

Grade

C

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Moxley got busted open under his eye during this match and was not happy when referee Aubrey Edwards tried to check on him.
  • Mox went for a Gotch Piledriver, which KOR reversed into a triangle choke, causing The Death Rider to almost pass out.
  • O'Reilly tried to convince the official to restart the match, but Shafir knocked her out with a forearm.
  • Freshly Squeezed was hesitant to take the mic then delivered the most intentionally lazy "Blood & Guts" call AEW has ever heard.

Women's World Tag Tournament: Jamie Hayter and Queen Aminata vs. Sisters of Sin

5 of 7

Last Time in Action: Jamie Hayter and Queen Aminata defeated Julia Hart and Skye Blue, Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron and Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford to earn the right to choose their first round opponents (Dynamite, October 22).

Mercedes Moné attacked Kris Statlander backstage. The two brawled to the ring where Athena helped The CEO lay out the AEW women's world champion. Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron made the save.

After a physical battle, Thekla took out Hayter outside to allow The Sisters of Sin to lay out Aminata with an assisted Downward Spiral for the win.

This was fantastic hard-hitting action, elevated by how comfortable all four women were with connecting on their strikes.

These women went at each other, playing to the style of tag team wrestling that AEW loves most. All four women were involved often, rarely just waiting on the apron.

The finish was a little sloppy but the absolute right call. Aminata and Hayter picked up a surprise win last week, but they are not a well-established team yet.

The Sisters of Sin are tag division stalwarts and needed at least one tournament victory. Round two could be tougher, especially if The CEO and War Goddess advance next week.

The Thekla factor is a great addition and could help Hart and Blue take the championship. No other team has an obvious third to match her.

The brawl of Stat and Moné that preceded this contest was a good call to keep the world title match in full view while also setting up a little more hype for the tag tournament quarterfinal to come.

Result

Hart and Blue def. Hayter and Aminata by pinfall to advance to the semifinals of the Women's World Tag Team Championships Tournament.

Grade

A-

Notable Moments and Observations

  • AEW aired a hype package for Olympia ahead of her CMLL World Women's Championship match on Collision.
  • Renee Paquette interviewed Statlander, who promised to be ringside for the Collision match and called out The CEO to meet her face-to-face.
  • The two teams collided in the ring where Aminata and Hayter hit double suplexes, but The Sisters of Sin responded with superkicks. Aminata and Hayter rebounded into clotheslines.
  • Backstage, Penelope Ford wore a sling and told Tony Schiavone she could not compete in the tournament. Marina Shafir stepped up to team with Megan Bayne, much to the delight of Jon Moxley.

No. 1 Contender: Bobby Lashley vs. Ricochet vs. Samoa Joe vs. Hook

6 of 7

Last Time in Action: Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs and Katsuyori Shibata defeated Bobby Lashley, MVP and Shelton Benjamin (Dynamite, October 22); Hook defeated Griff Garrison (Collision, October 25); Ricochet and GOA lost to The Hurt Syndicate (WrestleDream, October 18).

After wild action where everyone got close to a win, Ricochet continued to be a thorn in the side of Lashley, distracting him from the action in the ring where Samoa Joe made Hook tap out to the Coquina Clutch.

Afterward, Joe signed the contract for his world title match and destroyed all the big Halloween costumes, thinking "Hangman" Adam Page was the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man again.

Instead, The Cowboy revealed he was dressed as Tony Schiavone as the Phantom of the Opera, taking out The Opps and laying out Joe with a Buckshot Lariat before officials pulled him away.

This main event earned its spot with wild action throughout. In particular, Lashley looked fantastic in this one, a dominant force to be survived.

Ricochet was the highlight-reel performer and the closest to winning of anyone besides Joe, which could have been a fun title match.

However, for the story, it only made sense for The Samoan Submission Machine to win. He and The Cowboy have too much heat right now to delay.

The aftermath would not have been nearly as sweet either with anyone else. Hangman remains the rare smart wrestling champion, outsmarting The Opps all on his own.

This will be a highlight-reel moment for this rivalry, and the next month should focus on creating plenty more. Hangman vs. Shibata and Hobbs would also be very welcome.

Hook's inclusion in this match was questionable from a credibility perspective, but he more than held his own and was a good fall man, especially considering his history with Joe.

Result

Joe def. Hook, Lashley and Ricochet by submission to earn a shot at the AEW World Championship at Full Gear.

Grade

A+

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Early in the show, Hook said he was the underdog but was in this to win and make sure Joe lost.
  • Schiavone was dressed as the Phantom of the Opera throughout the night for interviews, calling back to a classic Halloween Havoc look for him.
  • Ricochet dived onto both Joe and Lashley outside to set up a Shooting Star Press, but Hook kicked out at two.
  • The Handsome Devil reversed the Spirit Gun into Redrum, but Joe broke it up with a senton.
  • Joe lifted Hook into a Muscle Buster, but Lashley Speared him for a near-fall broken up by Ricochet's 450 Splash.

Overall Show

7 of 7

While the theming of the night was a bit limited, the action lived up to the special occasion for Fright Night Dynamite.

The 4-Way matches were fantastic and sold why both winners deserved the next shot at the AEW World Championship.

The Women's World Tag Team Championships Tournament started with a strong outing that made the case for The Sisters of Sin to win it all.

The Don Callis Family summit started rough but ended strong by further selling why fans should be excited for an explosion to come between Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita.

The Death Riders' part of the show was not at the same level as the rest of the night, but the Blood & Guts set up worked well.

It is hard to beat this consistency of story and action on Dynamite.
